On Saturday June 16, 2007, The Water Festival will be held at Comstock Riverside Park in Grand Rapids.
The daylong concert (11 AM - 10 PM) highlights the finest acoustic music Michigan has to offer including Steppin’ In It, Rachel Davis, Daisy May, Seth Bernard, Drew Nelson, Ralston Bowles, Breathe Owl Breathe, Laura Bates and Brandon Foote, Hawks and Owls String Band, Jen Sygit and Special Guests: Drew Howard, Susan Fawcett and Peter “Madcat” Ruth.
There will be brief talks from organizations dedicated to water issues including diversion, pollution and privatization between musical performances on issues , and other threats facing our water. Presenters will include Mayor George Heartwell, and representatives from West Michigan Environmental Action Council, Clean Water Action, and Michigan Citizens for Water Conservation.
We should also add that the winner of the Save the Wild UP Video Challenge will be announced at the event - still time to cast your vote!
