In his SE Michigan 2008 Strawberry season field report, Ann Arbor blogger Edward Vielmetti says that strawberries are ready to pick. In addition to continuing storms and flooding, the presumptive Presidential nominees are setting their eyes on Michigan with Barack Obama in Flint and Detroit today and John McCain reportedly deciding on a suburban Oakland County location as the Michigan campaign HQ. With a recent poll by Rasmussen Reports finding 45% of Michigan respondents favoring Obama with 42% for John McCain, it's safe to say that we'll see much more of them in the months to come.
Our Michigan June Event Calendar says that events on tap for this weekend include the Straits Area Car Show in St. Ignace, the Dearborn Arab International Festival and the International Freedom Festival in Detroit (which features a massive fireworks display).
Ercy also posted a short Tahquamenon Falls video that does a good job of showing the second biggest waterfall east of the Mississippi. You can read about and see more of the Tahquamenon Falls from Michigan in Pictures (be sure to check out Sunday Study: Upper Tahquamenon Falls).
