Despite the fact that things are a lot more productive (not to mention happier) since I stopped chasing the news around every day, I kind of miss having a place to post interesting Michigan news stories and columns. I've also been thinking that it would be nice to have a place where folks can go to learn about (and let others know) what's going on around the state.
In the spirit of "Why Not??", Absolute Michigan proudly announces This Month in Michigan ... which may change to This Week in Michigan if activity warrants it. Please feel welcome to post news stories that somehow inspired or interested you, cool events that people might want to take a drive for, and observations about what's going on in your community or the natural world!

I've had this idea for a while and the column that pushed me to do it was this LSJ article making the case that gridlock is a perfect reflection of the electorate.
April is Michigan Wine Month and there's lots of events all over the state associated with that!
I would also like to thank Rich Evenhouse for the use of the image for our banner for this page!
