It's that time in Ann Arbor again, time for The Ark's 30th Annual Folk Festival. You probably won't see Noah or the animals, but do look for big musical acts like John Prine, Rufus Wainwright, Daisy May, and many others to stop by historic Hill Auditorium Friday, January 26th and Saturday, January 27th.
Originally founded in 1965, The Ark has a simple mission
The Ark is a non-profit organization dedicated to the enrichment of the human spirit through the presentation, preservation and encouragement of folk, roots and ethnic music and related arts. The Ark provides a safe and welcoming atmosphere for all people to listen to, learn about, perform and share music.
Billed as one of its biggest fundraisers and hosted by Michigan's own native son, Jeff Daniels, the Folk Festival has a line-up that's sure to please people of all ages with a wide variety of different artists. From John Prine, who head-lined the very first Folk Festival in 1977, to emerging artists like Millish, a band who absorbs a range of music into their Irish music, this is a must-see for any musical fan.
