Pier jumpers in October by Five eyes
Michigan has experienced a record run of heat, with many places such as Mt. Pleasant (which topped a 100+ year old record for the hottest October day) shattering their record temps over the last few days. The Detroit News says that yesterday was the latest 90 degree day in Detroit's history. Michigan's morning cup of controversy (also known as the Detroit Free Press) frets about the poor opening of bow season and that the extreme heat of the last several days could have an impact on Michigan's fall color. They do allow that cooler temps and rain will help to stabilize both things.
They didn't care about all that in Ludington, where it was all about ice cream and the beach or at the Grand Blanc Country Club where they called it 'October Summer' and smiled as the cash register rang.
In any case, I think we'll all probably remember October 2007 as a pretty magical month.
