Seth & May at Dunegrass by Andy McFarlane
The Mt. Pleasant Morning Sun is sending blogger Eric Baerren and photographer Lisa Yanick to this year's Wheatland Music Festival. They'll be sending us updates as we have them and we'll try to pass them along to you from this page. You can also check the Morning Sun's blog and at the newspaper's web site.
This should of course NOT be considered a substitute for heisting yourself and loved ones to one of Michigan's finest music festivals!
I didn't have any photos from Wheatland, so I cheated. Seth Bernard & Daisy May ARE playing at Wheatland though!
Eric wrote a couple articles on the Festival including one about the dance pavilion at the festival and another on Oceana County's Happy Farmers Coop, who serve up lots of food every festival including 1500 pounds of their famous potatos!
Lisa posted a couple videos including this one of a few musicians picking their way through the day:

No Wheatland for me this year -- it's a sad, sad year.

Hey, I was playing with those guys!; the one on the right with the Mandolin is Bruce Gartner of the Rhythm Billies.

its a shame that Wheatland, especially in this economy has to be so expensive that people like us can't even think about attending. What is up with charging $100? Who can afford that? And I question if charging such an outrages amount is necessary. Sad when you can't even enjoy the simple things in life without having to fill someone's wallet.
