Eat Local: Michigan Summer Squash
Summer squash (and zucchini) is a great source of Vitamin A, potassium, calcium, and especially Vitamin C. Since it's 94% water, squash is low in calories, easy to digest and good at replacing lost fluids on hot summer days. Check here for more info on squash and some recipes!

There's probably no month that is better for exploring the Great Lakes State than August, and all month we'll be highlighting some great things to do in every corner of Michigan. Because gas prices and a soft economy are getting in the way of some folks' enjoyment, we'll be sure to include activities that are cheap to free!
