Agreement Gives Extra $15 Million to Promote Michigan Tourism The TC Record-Eagle reports that under an agreement between Gov. Granholm and legislative Republicans, Travel Michigan, the state's travel promotion agency, will receive and additional $7.5 million in 2006 and in 2007. The money will be used to promote Michigan as a tourist destination to out-of-state travelers and the $15 million will bring Michigan closer to the tourist promotion budgets of surrounding states. The extra money may definitely be needed as gas prices may already be having an impact on summer travel.
