The celebration includes many events, including shows, concerts, contests, boat tours, sporting events, and the annual Bridgefest parade and fireworks display.
Iditarod Sled Dog Race Slideshow, Feb. 16th & 21st; Hancock Keweenaw photographer Charlie Eshbach will present "Bouncin' down the Iditarod Trail" -- an up-close and personal slide show of the legendary Iditarod Sled Dog Race running 1160 miles from Anchorage to Nome, Alaska -- on two occasions open to the public locally.
Fire and Ice: The Winter War of Finland and Russia, March 9th; Hancock The Finlandia University Finnish American Heritage Center’s Nordic Film Series will present two special showings of the documentary film, Fire and Ice: The Winter War of Finland and Russia at 3 p.m. and at 6 p.m. Thursday, Mar. 9. The award-winning writer, director and producer of the film, Ben Strout, will be on hand before and after each showing to discuss the film and answer questions.
