Hip Hop Icons featured in Detroit exhibit
The Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (MOCAD) will host an exhibition of portraits of hip-hop icons Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Common, Kanye West, Reverend Run, Duke, Lil Jon, Don "Magic" Juan, Whoo Kid, Marc Ecko and Russell Simmons by Russian-born American painter Alexander Melamid. The opening is February 8th and the exhibit runs through April 20th, 2008. |

Tickets are already sold out for Saturday night at The Ark's Annual Ann Arbor Folk Festival, but there are still a few remaining for Friday night (Jan 25) featuring headliner Ben Folds, Toad The Wet Sprocket, Shemekia Copeland, Trina Hamlin, Brian Vander Ark and others. |
