National cribbage competition coming to Grand Rapids
The American Cribbage Congress will be holding the Grand National 28 in Grand Rapids on September 25–27, 2009. In addition, the Grass Roots Tournament of Champions will be held on Friday, September 25. Entrants who want to play Grass Roots cribbage on Monday–Thursday nights will have plenty of opportunity, for Michigan boasts thirteen Grass Roots clubs. |

Electric Blues: Remembering Les Paul
Les Paul, designer of the Gibson Les Paul and an incredibly influential musician, passed away Friday at the age of 94. In addition to collaborting on the the guitar that bore his name and developing a wide range of guitar licks and trills, Paul is credited with recording innovations including overdubbing, tape delay, phasing effects, and multitrack recording. |

East Lansing Art Festival & MSU Arts and Crafts Show, May 16 - 17
Established in 1964, the East Lansing Art Festival is held every spring during the weekend prior to the Memorial Holiday weekend. The festival features 230 artist exhibitors from all over the U.S. and Canada. The MSU Arts and Crafts Show is one of the largest arts and crafts shows in the state. This year’s show includes many returning favorites as well as brand new artists. |
